There is no airconditioning but however, the house is built in such a way that the rooms maintain a pleasent temperature through the summer and we will provide electric heaters during cooler periods.

Finca Tamaragua is a self-catering accommodation. Most rooms have a fully equipped kitchen or you can make use of the common kitchen at the pool. If you like to dine out, you reach our local Teleclub in 12 min by walking, where you can enjoy delicious Tapas and drinks. We would be happy to give you more recommendations on where to dine out.

There is just one airport in Lanzarote, César Manrique´s Airport (ACE). From there you can reach us by car, bus or taxi.

The nearest town is San Bartolomé, a 5 minute drive from the Finca Tamaragua. There you will find banks with ATMs, a petrol station, grocery stores and a pharmacy, along with a small selection of cafes and restaurants.

Whilst some do drink or cook with the tap water here in Lanzarote, it is desalinated sea water and as such has a particular taste and therefore we installed a water filter so you can enjoy high quality water. With that, we try to reduce plastic waste and encourage a more sustainable tourism. You can find the tap in the common kitchen at the pool and are welcome to help yourself.

We speak fluent English and German, as well as some French and Spanish.

You may check in from 3:00 pm and check out before 11:00 am on your final day. We want you to get the most out of your stay with us however, so please inform us if you wish to check in earlier or check out later. It may be that in periods of lower occupancy, we can be flexible with these timings. In the event that you arrive early and we can’t give you your room immediately, or that we can’t offer you a late check out, we can look after your luggage for you whilst you are out and about or enjoying the pool area.

We are happy to share our recommodations of restaurants nearby. In most of our rooms you can cook in a fully equipped kitchen.

Facilities

We offer a laundry service where we wash your cloth, hang them up and fold them for you for a cost of 3 or 6 Euros depending on the duration of the washing program. Just let us know when you like to wash and for how long and to what temperature and we do the rest for you.

WIFI is available to all guests in all areas. Our studios and apartments are equipped with smart televisions.

We are passionate about surfing so you will find a surfboard rack and a wetsuit station.

We also have a shared freshwater swimming pool, BBQ and chill out area and a yoga or fitness space.

We provide a water filter tap in the common kitchen at the pool so you can drink and refill high quality water and reduce plastic waste to support a more sustainable tourism.

If you are travelling with sports equipment please advise us before you arrive so that we can organize storage.

We recommend that you travel with insurance appropriate to your personal situation, and the activities you are planning during your holiday.

Under normal circumstances, no vaccinations are requested for entry to the Canary Islands, however in these times of Covid, please check with your travel partner or goverment travel advice for up to date vaccination or test requirements.

The local currency is Euro, and the nearest ATM is in San Bartolomé, a 5 minutes drive from the Guest House. We recommend carrying some cash with you as there are some shops and restaurants that do not accept card payments.

With average temperatures between 20 and 27 degrees celsius in the summer and 14 and 21 degrees Celsius in the winter, there is always a warm spot to be found somewhere on the island. Evenings and night times can feel much fresher however, particularly in the cooler months.

Here are a few suggestions:

  • Yoga mats are available, but feel free to bring yours for your own practice.
  • Reusable water bottle, you can refill it in our common kitchen
  • Swim wear, sunglasses, and a hat
  • Windproof jacket and /or raincoat (particularly November-March)
  • Comfortable clothing
  • Footwear for the beach and trail hiking
  • High factor sunscreen
